Fuel System

Always use a clean fuel that is free of water or other impurities. use the chainsaw fuel and oil mixed in different proportions according to the manufacturer. Check your owner's manual to see which combination you should use. Label your containers. With blowers, lawnmowers and other small engines make it easy to confuse one with another gas.

Fuel filter to help clear impurities, but if they are blocked fuel flow is limited. During periods of heavy use, clean your fuel filter weekly and replace if necessary.

Clean the tank once a month by filling the fuel tank and control of dirt and debris. Do not store the string directly on cold surfaces such as concrete. The air in the tank will condense and cool, causing moisture while the fuel.

chain system

In addition to sharpening the chain, you must keep checking the channel release. At idle, the light chain hanging from the bar. Guides chain (newspaper) should be in most cases still in the bar. If the saw and the chain brake is released, it should be possible to manually load chain around the bar without difficulty. Check the bar mounting nuts periodically during the operation will solve the constant vibration.

Visual inspection of the bar before each use. Based on the length of each curve or curves. Consider the recess in which the pivot link is hard to make sure it is clean and undamaged. If the bath bombs or too wide, insert a steel plate as thick as 0.004 inch of the race lobes. Use a ball peen hammer on the width and adapting to the bar or on the disc stuck in advertisements.

Lubricate roller boards, headed by the manufacturer. Check the bearing plate for the drill and remove with a flat file. Look for damage and wear, replace if necessary.

Remove the mounting nuts and to cover the chain-sprocket exhibit. Examine the teeth to remove the crown for damage and contamination. on the clutch, turn the clutch and gear. Find discontinuity that might indicate a problem. Check the drum and shoes for glazing caused by sliding. You can remove the glass with a wire brush. Remove the clutch and pack bearings regularly. When you live in a humid environment or saw waterlogged, remove the clutch and dry thoroughly. Remove it after each use, the chain and bar and clean to remove dust, dirt and other materials.

Check the height of the oil bar and chain continually during use. You'll be surprised how much oil you use. If you go there no warning light, other than the smoke of the chain. Excessive heat can cause serious damage to the bar, chain and sprockets.

Air Filter

Because chainsaws are always operated in dusty, clean the air filter after each use. Before you expose the air filter, clean the outside of the saw and move it to a range of sawdust or other materials that could fall into the carburetor. Remove the filter and clean it with a compressor or as recommended in your owner's manual. In times of heavy traffic, you must replace the air filter every week.

Engine

Consult saw service technician for most engines work. You must evaluate the tools and know-how to all components. However, here are 3 maintenance tasks that everyone can afford.

Spark plugs. If you have problems starting the saw, check the connectors and cables. Replace your plugs every year and adjust the gap with the manufacturer's instructions.

Carburetor. Small adjustments can make a remarkable difference. Each time the saw, as he stalled, as it accelerates, and how it maintains its speed. When the engine slow or cuts, please contact the owner's manual carburetor settings and adjustments.

Silent. Clean muffler and exhaust pipes per month. Use a spatula to remove soot deposits. Clean exhaust gas daily protection and weekly for damage.

Cord

Visual inspection of the spinal cord for fraying or cuts before use. Check the switch to ensure that the cable is securely attached. If any of these items are damaged, fix them in conditions, or you may experience a failure in the field.

Off Season Storage

When you save your chainsaw for a period of 30 days or more, you must take special precautions to limit exposure. All the fuel tank. Then, from the fuel line and draining the carburetor by running the saw and runs until it stops. Drain oil and remove the bar and chain. Keep the packing line in an airtight container, oil so that the whole chain is gone. Apply a thin layer of oil on the bar and wrap it in paper. Clean the outside and inside of the saw. Remove the candle and apply a rust inhibitor into the combustion chamber. Spark plug and pull the starter rope slowly several times to the inhibitor in the cylinder to distribute.

There's nothing more frustrating than a saw that does not work correctly. felling of smaller trees can drag for hours if you are against a dull chain or water in the fuel system. Always carry additional channels if your contacts have seen the ground or other hard surface, it is useless now. Also special attention to storage procedures. They are trouble-free operation when you start your saw will be rewarded again. Finally, follow all these tips and keep power preventive maintenance schedule of any information concerning the replacement and cleaning. Chainsaws are a simple tool that can provide years of service. They can also be your worst nightmare if you do not have the edge.
